About Me

Hello, my name is Lindsay and I am a 20-something-year old living in Chicago. I have a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and currently work in health research. My journey towards healthy living began my senior year in high school when I realized that despite being athletic and very active, my unhealthy eating habits were not only adding to my waistline but also making me feel pretty gross. With the support of my family, I cleaned up my diet and started looking for types of exercise that I could continue post-graduation.

My passion for running began shortly thereafter. I started out running just two miles a couple of times a week. However, my love of running just kept growing so that two, three, and four miles was no longer enough. I have run three marathons, three half marathons, and numerous shorter races. I plan to continue marathoning as well as check out the tri-scene this coming summer :).

I have also become interested in cooking. Over the past year I have transitioned from reheating Whole Foods prepared foods to cooking entire meals from scratch. This change was not only driven by my desire to learn to cook and be creative in the kitchen but also coincided with moving in with my boyfriend Ian. It is so nice having someone else to try my creations and tell me if they’re too crazy :P.

I plan to use this blog to document my training, eating, and life. I will not be posting all of my eats, although I will most likely document most of them as I am starting to really enjoy food photography. In terms of eating, I consider myself a flexible pescatarian that loves trying new food and different cuisines. I also enjoy going out to eat and my boyfriend and I frequently check out new restaurants and bars. I also will be posting about my cat, Sonic, as he grows and investigates new areas of our apartment.
